Duration: 30 - 60 minutes, as long as you are out by bug bed time, you can stay as long as you'd like!

Notes:

  • At this time Gift Cards purchased through our online booking system are not redeemable in the Gift Shop. They can only be used for admission.
  • Booking is not necessary, walk-ins are always welcome!
  • There are only 10 bookable spots online to help you plan your day but booking online is not required.
  • Children under 13 must be accompanied by someone 16 years of age or older, no exceptions
  • GROUPS: See below for more information on groups larger than 10.

Masks are mandatory for the first hour of the day for those ages 5+ for our accessibility hours.


Weekdays: 11am-1pm

Weekends: 10am-12pm


Masks will continue being free with admission and highly recommended in the Gift Shop and Zoo at all other times.


Please note that we do not allow Daycares to come in as a walk-in, no matter the size. All Daycares must pre-book with Karlee, the Outreach Manager, in advance and we will come to you. We are no longer offering private tours in the zoo until further notice.


Group Tours and Special Events

Do you have a group large than 10 people, including little ones?


Please split up your group into 10 or less and stagger your groups' entrance time by a minimum of 15 minutes.


We are a mini- zoo and don't have the space for larger groups to be mixed in with other general admission ticket holders.


At this time we are not accepting any more private bookings until further notices. This includes Daycares.


We will be still accepting a minimal amount of Outreach bookings.


An Educator is always in the zoo waiting to teach you all about the incredible animals we have.


The displays are ever changing, so come in and be amazed by the extensive collection of invertebrates from around the world any time of the year.


This stop is sure to thrill everyone; from children, adults and bug lovers to even the more skeptical visitors!



  • Victoria Bug Zoo is wheelchair accessible, however Nootka Court Washrooms are not. Our apologies.
  • If interested in booking a group larger than 10, please split your group up and come in at least 15 minutes apart.
  • Refunds, partial and whole, will not be issued unless given at least 48-hour notice by phone or email. bugs@victoriabugzoo.ca

  • Indigenous Persons Discount

    All Indigenous folks will recieve a 15% discount on general admission.  Discounts can only be applied during instore purchase of general admission. If you booked ahead, let us know! We can refund the discount back on to the card you paid with.


    All Indigenous groups will recieve a 10% discount on all Outreaches and Private Tours. Please contact karlee@victoriabugzoo.ca for more information.

  • Access 2 and Leisure Assistance Pass

    By showing us your card,  your caregiver, assitant, parent, or helper may visit for free! You will pay your admission price. If the card holder is 4 and under, one parents will be free and so will the cardholder.

  • Industry Discount

    Do you work in toursim in BC? Let us know! You will recieve free admission for you and one guest. This is only valid for walk-in admissions. You may be asked for a paystub or work ID.

  • Seasonal Discounts

    During the summer months, sometimes we offer a veriety of discounts to folks including but not limited to Military families, and Grade School Teachers. These discounts are not available in the off season due to the decrease in toursism in Victoria and thus the decrease in income the Victoria Bug Zoo recieves. 


    Summer 2023 Discounts include 15% off Admission for Grade School Teachers. This only applies to walk-in guests. We do not offer this for pre-booked tickets. You may be asked for a Work ID or paystub.


    Other various discounts are avaiable through Passport to Science, Laurel Inn Guests, and various other coupons given out throughout the year.
